Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information

Some state privacy laws give you the right to opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of your personal information and of targeted advertising. This page explains what that means here and how to exercise it.

What we actually do

We do not sell your personal information for money. We have never done so and the arrangement described on our about page does not involve it.

We do two things that are worth naming plainly, because one of them may count as a “sale” or “sharing” under some of these laws even though no money changes hands for your data:

• We pass your enquiry to one installer. If you complete the questionnaire, your answers and contact details go to a single installer covering your area so they can contact you about your project. That is the service you asked for, and it is described in full in the privacy policy. Opting out of advertising measurement does not undo an enquiry you have already submitted — to stop that, ask us to stop sharing your information with installers, which you can also do below.
• We share advertising measurement data. On the questionnaire page, the guide page some advertisements link to, and the confirmation page, we may run Google Tag Manager and the Meta pixel, and may send Meta a server-side copy of a conversion containing your details in hashed form. This is how we tell which advertising works. This is the part that may qualify as a sale or sharing, and it is what the opt-out below covers.

Every other page on this site — the home page, this page, our research and cost articles, the privacy policy and our terms — carries no advertising tags at all.

How to opt out

Email privacy@golfspedia.com with Do Not Sell in the subject line, and tell us which of these you want:

• Opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information.
• Opt out of targeted advertising.
• Stop sharing your information with installers.
• Stop contacting you entirely.
• Tell you what we hold about you, or correct or delete it.

We will verify your identity before acting on a request about a specific record, and we will not discriminate against you for making one. You may use an authorised agent to submit a request on your behalf; we may ask for proof that you authorised them.

You can also stop the advertising tags yourself, without contacting us, by using a browser or extension that blocks analytics and advertising scripts. The site works normally without them.

Who this applies to

These rights are available to residents of states whose privacy laws provide them, including California, Colorado, Connecticut, Texas and Virginia. We do not require you to prove your state of residence before honouring an opt-out request of this kind — it is simpler to apply it than to check.
